I am not typical. Hell, I’m not even atypical. I’m untypical. I am not your typical (or atypical) Aliyah candidate: I'm Muslim, did not grow up in a house, and have no family living in Teaneck. I'm not what people typically think of when they hear "Jewish": I have blond hair, blue eyes, and fair skin. I’m not that rich, have no connections in Hollywood, and thoroughly enjoyed “The Passion of the Christ.” I am not your typical American: I speak 2 1/2 languages (please see my Hebrew blog), vote democratic (and I'm originally from the South!), and the last thing I want is a house in the suburbs. I like croissants, watch Mexican soccer, and have memorized the entire lineage of the British royal family. So what am I? Beats the hell out of me. All I know is, I like long walks on the beach and I’m crazy about my 37 cats. If you go near them, I’ll have to kill you.
